Jordan Boyd Obituary
Jordan had a smile that would light up a room. He was kindhearted, and a true teammate, always considerate of others. He made many, many friends during his short time with us. Jordan was born in Halifax on May 23, 1997. He had just completed grade 10 at the Rothesay Netherwood School in Rothesay, New Brunswick.
Jordan is survived by his parents, Stephen and Deborah Boyd, his brother, Gregory, sisters Kelsey and Jillian, grandparents, Louis and Dorothy Boyd and James and Marjory Kirby, his uncles Mike (Lisa), Chris, David (Julianna), Tim (Sarah), Peter (Joanne), Ian (Kelly), Wayne (Sandy), and 23 cousins.
Visitation will be held from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm on Friday, August 16 at J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive Halifax. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, August 17 in St Agnes Parish, 6903 Mumford Rd Halifax, NS. A private family burial will follow the funeral. Funeral arrangements are being handled by J.A. Snow Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the B&DMHA Players Assistance Fund or the Rothesay Netherwood School for an endowment to be established in Jordan's name. The family of Jordan James Louis Boyd wishes to thank the community of Bathurst, the Acadie-Bathurst Titan, Bedford Minor Hockey Association, the Rothesay Netherwood School, and all of the friends and family who have supported us in our time of grieving.

I didn't have the pleasure of meeting Jordan but I was friends with Mike, Chris and Dave at St FXU.
Interestingly, our youngest daughter, Cassidie, was a friend of Jordan's (we didn't know the Boyd family connection until now) and they were snap-chatting just a day before his passing. She is shocked and deeply saddened, as is everyone, at such a sudden and tragic loss. She described him to me as supportive, helpful, and the nicest guy that you would ever meet. I would expect nothing less, considering I would describe his uncles in the same way.
I can't imagine what your family is going through now. Please know that our family is praying for all of you and take comfort in knowing that Jordan touched many lives, on and off the ice.

Rowan (a team mate and competitor) of Jordan's always enjoyed respected him and considered him a friend.
The past few days have been filled with fond memories, stories, laughter and tears.
Jordan was a great hockey player. He loved the game and continued to strive for excellence.
The out pouring of support and love from the global hockey community has been immense and truly defines his legacy. Albeit far too soon.
Jordan was a kind soul. A trusted friend to many. A great team mate. He was fun and uplifting. He was a role model. More than anything, he was a true gentleman.
As a family suffering in deep sadness you can be proud of Jordan and know that everyone in our community, regardless of jersey colour is behind you and share in the pain of your loss.
