Jordan Mendes Obituary
He enjoyed weight lifting and belonged to the weight-lifting club at the high school. He also enjoyed playing basketball and football, rap music, the outdoors and spending time with kids. He was considered family oriented and helped his family whenever possible.
He is survived by his mother, Paula Carberry of Hyannis; father, Manuel L. Mendes; and brothers Joshua Carberry of Sagamore, Lawrence Hollinger of Hyannis and Mykel Mendes of Hyannis. He is also survived by his sisters, Tasha Carberry of Hyannis, Manisha Mendes of Hyannis, Tyianne M. Mendes of Boston and Nelise Mendes of Boston. He leaves his grandparents, Tyianne L. Mendes of Hyannis, Manuel W. Mendes of Boston, Karen Santos of Hyannis and Robert Carberry of Vermont.
Visiting hours will be at the Doane, Beal & Ames Funeral Home, 160 W. Main Street, Hyannis, on Tuesday, Dec. 23, from 4 to 7 p.m. Interment will be in Beechwood Cemetery on Dec. 30 at 1 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Jordan Mendes Memorial Fund, c/o TD Banknorth, 307 Main St., Hyannis, MA 02601.

Be the Change
My nephews are my heart, now that they are gone, may they rest in peace. Someone has to be the change so for me, all things that are bad I will do my best to be the change and do what’s right for me and mine. The loss of Jordon Mendes and Daniel Mendes was something fierce that left me physically, emotionally and mentally scarred for life. But life goes on. They will always be remembered. Uncle Danny has him now. He will make sure he is safe. God will protect them. They are both at peace now. My love is with them and memories will always be there of good times we shared. Their heats were pure, they cared for others and others loved them. It’s hard to believe at times they are gone. But for me, they are there watching over all of us and we have to be strong if not for ourselves, for them. Do what is right. Be the change!

To Paula and The Mendes Family , I really don't have any words to say that could ease your pain. I do want to say that all the Mendes children were very special to me. My memories of Jordan are alot from Hyannis West. He had the best smile!!! I picture him running around outside on the playground with his runny nose:). He was always either playing basketball or kickball (when the girls weren't chasing him:).) He would always ask me Miss V how much time do we have?
