Jorge lived in Erie for 35 years, where he was a founding member of the first Spanish Assemblies of God church in the region, Primera Iglesia Ebenezer. After retiring from General Electric as a Main Cab Assembler, he moved to Avon Park, FL where he continued an active role in the Church as a guitarist for Iglesia De Dios Pentecostal and was frequently featured on regional Christian radio stations. Jorge was easy to love and instilled in his children a strong work ethic, a spirit of curiosity, a generous disposition, and genuine authenticity to oneself.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Juan Caraballo and Elvira Santiago; and siblings, Jacinto Santiago, Angel Santiago, and Domingo Santiago. Jorge is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of 47 years, Hilda Enid Velez Caraballo; children, Lesvia Diaz (Rafael), Joey Caraballo (Alicia), Siomara Burykin (David), Samuel Caraballo (Hannah Kirby), Javier Caraballo (Jamie Falo), and Suelaine Robertson (Matthew); siblings, Ebaristo Santiago, Pedro Román, Maria Santiago, Hector Caraballo, Miguel Caraballo, and Benjamín Caraballo; 16 grandchildren, and many nephews, nieces, and friends.
Friends may call at Dusckas Funeral Services, Inc., 536 West 10th Street, on Tuesday, November 9th from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm and are invited to attend a Funeral Service there on Wednesday, November 10th, at 11 am, with Alfonso Velez officiating. Interment will follow at Erie Cemetery.
