Jose G. Gonzalez

Jose G. Gonzalez, 72, of Blackfoot, Idaho, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 24, 2016 around 11:48 a.m. at his residence surrounded by family. He fought two hard years with cancer.
Jose was born on Jan. 29, 1944 in Devine, Texas to Nemicino and Porfidia Gonzalez. Jose enjoyed gardening, working with his sons on cars, farming, spending time with his grandkids, traveling to Texas to visit family, he also liked going to dances with his wife, his favorite hobby was building model cars, he also enjoyed watching his grandson LeRey (Boy) and Annika (Turtle) dancing at powwows, but most of all he liked taking Sunday cruises with his wife, Anita.
In 1968, he me Anita and the following year they were married in Fort Morgan, Colorado.
Jose started working at a very young age doing farm work for his father. He worked in Montana and in Idaho where he was employed at Teepee Potatoes for more than 35 years until he retired.
Jose is survived by his wife, Anita Fisher Gonzalez, sons Alfonso Gonzales (Texas), Murray, Lloyd (Anna), Reyes Gonzalez all of Blackfoot, and only daughter Connie Gonzalez of Blackfoot. Four brothers Benny (Rosie) of Missouri, Reyes (Theresa) of Washington, Francisco Gonzalez of Texas, and Matias (Norma) of Idaho. Three sisters Maria Moreno of Idaho, Simona Aguinaga of Texas, Irma Diaz of Texas. Seven grandchildren; Veronica, Monika, LeRey, Annika, Kaleb, and Kaileah Gonzalez, Kourtney Arriwite and Kimberley (Texas).
Three great-grandchildren Ayvee Mendoza, Javier and Nicholas (Texas), and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jose was preceded in death by his parents Nemecino and Porfidia Gonzalez, brothers Juan and Raymundo and sisters Paulina and Juana.
His body will be at their residence (Anita Fisher Gonzalez) at the corner of 300 S. Sandy and 300 W. Diggie Road.
There will be a rosary held on Tuesday, Sept. 27 at 7 p.m. at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Blackfoot. Traditional burial services will be held at Gibson Cemetery on Sept. 28 at 2 p.m.
