Jose Pereira passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, June 17 in Modesto.
Jose was born to parents Joao and Maria in Fontinhas, Terceira, Azores. After immigrating to the area, Jose worked as a dairyman.
Jose is survived by his wife, Maria Manuela Pereira of Hilmar, his mother Maria Ecarnacao Andrade of Azores, his three sons: Tiago Samuel Machado (Vania) Pereira of Livingston, Claudio Felipe Machado Pereira of Hilmar, and Diogo Gabriel Machado (Jessica) Pereira of Hilmar. He is also survived by his brother Joao Manuel Pereira (Graciete) of Azores, his sisters: Angela (Helio) Mendes of Azores, and Maria (Jaime) Lewis of Tuscon, Arizona , and granddaughter Brianna Oliveira Pereira.
Jose was preceded in death by his father Joao, and his sister Eulalia Godinho.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, June 25 from 2-8PM at Whitehurst-Norton-Dias Funeral Service. Rosary will follow at 8 PM.
Funeral Mass will be held at 11:30 AM at Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church: 2602 S. Walnut Road, Turlock. Jose will be laid to rest at N. Hilmar Cemetery District.
Arrangements under the direction of Whitehurst-Norton-Dias Funeral Service (FD504), Turlock, CA.
