Just learning of what I had suspected. It pains me to hear this, our loss of his good will, presence and laughter will continue to be missed. Michael was my brother and the light of my life when I was a boy. Our sister Catherine, Michael and myself all shared the same mother, Rosemary. To Catherine and myself, Joe was a second father and we all called him Dad. Ellie was a delightful woman full of charm and grace. She was very kind and understanding of the bond that Joe and Rosemary had since they were children in grade school together, each the others first love and together had their first and Joe´s only child, my brother Michael. During the last year or so of my mother´s life while she was going through her own health issues she became increasingly concerned about Joe. While she was in care facility herself, she would ask me to try to get a hold of Ellie. She was worried because no one was answering the phone. We had an opportunity after my mother had regained some strength to drive to Sacramento to see Joe and Ellie. The home was vacant and after doing some research on the internet, we found out Ellie had passed. But there was no information on Joe or his whereabouts. My mother passed away not knowing what happened to Joe. The pandemic came, the world changed and now here we are. I want to say thank you to those who cared for Joe during his final years. You were lucky enough to enjoy him, his stories and his laughter, I would like to think, until his end. Cathrine and myself are very grateful and appreciative to Voilet and Jason at Crown Point. I hope to tell them myself in person someday when I´m up in the northern california area. Catherine and I will always cherish the memories we have of our times with Joe. I remember the original Peetie and all those that followed. His cooking, walking into Kitchens Inc. to visit my brother during the time he worked with Joe. Going out with Joe on the Delta in his boat, his laughter, charisma and unyielding joy for life and loving those around him. My condolences go out those family members I never had the opportunity to meet but share the same loss. I will end this with a simple - Thanks Dad, for sharing, loving and showing how a man can have strength through kindness. I´m glad you are now all together again sharing a new adventure!
I love and miss you, David

I am so sad to learn of Joe's passing we had such fun going down the river on picnics , Joe got a chicken bone caught and my late husband Gary got it out. He was a delightful friend who will surely be missed. RIP Joe
