Dear Mrs. Alsberry and Family,
I graduated in 2004 from WFHS and since then have joined The U.S. Navy. I wanted so badly to attend Coach's services, but due to my being on the west coast I could not. I ran track, cross country, and was in the vanguard knights under the supervision of coach and was always doing things with him often loading up stuff in the back yard and small community projects with him. He still is one of my favorite people in the world and always will be. He has been a great father figure and mentor to all of us and he will be greatly missed. I'll look forward to seeing him again in Heaven. God bless you all and may your faith remain strong in the Lord!
Love,John Steven

Be Still
Be still like the grass on a melancholy summer day
Be still like desert shrub.
Be calm and you will hear your loved one speak, in the stillness, in the calm, their love resounds.
If you are still this promise I make, you will hear the voice of your loved one helping you along your way.

Coach Alsberry or "Pappa Joe" was a very kind-hearted, compassion man. He was a father figure to most of us that did not have a father or father was not around . He took the time to listen and had a solutions to a problem. He took time to meet every deadline or problem without breaking into sweat or frenzy. There never was a frown, always a smile, for a man that was a friend , husband father to many , man of dignity , integrity honor and respect will be greatly missed. Go home Coach Alsberry and take your rest, we love and miss you deeply but God knows what's best"!

I am so sorry for your loss. This came as a great shock to me. Coach Alsberry was like a father to me at school. I loved assisting with the football team and being under his leadership for Teen Institute. He has made a great impact in my life. I hope the thought of knowing that you and your family are in my prayers will be a source of comfort to you. God bless you in your time of sorrow.

To Sister Pam, Morgan,Joey and family...
The loss of a love one is very hard to bear but with God's love and the love of family and friends it will ease the pain. I pray that God will continue to give you strength during your time of sorrow and allow the memories of such a admired and giving man, your husband, your father and a friend too many to ease the sadness and bring the smiles of joy of knowing that he had touched so many lives. I thank God for the opportunity to have been in the body of Christ with brother Joe and I know that his memory will forever live on in each one of you and the so many people that he touched.
