Joseph J. Balash Jr.

BALASH Joseph J. Balash Jr., age 51, beloved husband of Susan Card Balash of Stratford, and son of Ann J. Drbul Balash of Bridgeport, died Thursday morning, July 14, 2005, at Bridgeport Hospital. Born in New York City, N.Y., he was a Naval Veteran of the Vietnam War and was a machinist for the last 25 years at Sikorsky Aircraft. Joseph attended Sts. Cyrils and Methodius school and Bullard Haven Tech, Bridgeport. He was a diehard Yankees fan and very knowledgeable on all Yankee trivia. Survivors, in addition to his wife and mother are, three devoted daughters, Jennifer Balash and twin daughters, Sarah and Kelly Balash; two sisters, Mary Ann Craig and her husband, Alan, of Orange, and Joanie Fordham of Trumbull; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Raymond and Lois Card, of Stratford; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Lois Ann Card, Chris Card, Bruce Card, Carol Card, Joan Card and Mark Card. He as predeceased by his father, Joseph Balash Sr. Friends may greet the family on Monday, July 18, from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Dennis & D'Arcy Funeral Home, 2611 Main Street, Stratford. Msgr. Joseph Pekar, pastor of Sts. Cyril and Methodius Church, will conduct the rosary on Monday, at 4 p.m. All other services and burial in Union Cemetery will be private.
