RICHARD BURNS MERRITT ISLAND Richard K Burns, 51, of Merritt Island, died Friday February 2, 2007, at home. Born in Jersey City, he lived in Middletown, NJ for 28 years before moving to Florida in 1990. His passion for reading, music and sports was matched only by his loyalty to family and friends. He is survived by his parents, Richard and Martha Burns; brothers Thomas, Andrew and Bill; brother and sister-in-law, Chris and Terry Burns; sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Tom Hettwer; sister and broth er-in-law, Marianne and Ed Stelmaszczyk; niece and nephew, Patti and Michael Stelmaszczyk, all of New Jer sey. Also his dear friend, Carol de Vries of Merritt Island, and many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. A Memorial gathering will be held on Thursday, Feburary 15, 2007, at 10 a.m., at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, 115 Tindall Road, Middletown, New Jersey. Services are scheduled for 11 a.m., at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, Richie would have appreciated a help ing hand extended to those who exist on the fringes of society.
