Joseph Daigle Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Nov. 30, 2016.
Joseph "Preston" Daigle, 79, a native of Lacassine and resident of Welsh was entrusted to God's loving care on Wednesday, November 30, 2016.
Preston was born January 18, 1937 to Palemon & Elodie Daigle. He grew up in a farming family in Lacassine and later moved to Welsh. Preston proudly served in the United States Army. Upon his return home he married Patsy Hornsby and they were happily married for 57 years. He had a career in the insurance business until his retirement. He was employed by Magnolia Life & Liberty Life for 42 years as everyone's favorite "insurance man". Preston enjoyed the simple pleasures in life such as hunting, fishing, and spending time with family and friends. His favorite hobby was gardening and sharing his harvest with many. He was a family man who enjoyed his children and grandchildren. He truly loved all the little ones he met.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Patsy Hornsby Daigle; children, Natalie Fontenot (Doug), Keith Daigle (Sue Rostrom), Tina Daigle, and Chad Daigle (Nicole). Preston is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by Palemon & Elodie Daigle and brothers, John and George Daigle.
The visitation will be at Hixson Funeral Home in Welsh on Friday, December 2, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. The Recitation of the Rosary will be Friday at 6:00 p.m. The visitation will continue on Saturday, December 3, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. procession time. The Mass of Christian Burial will be at Our Lady of Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Welsh at 12:00 noon. Father Alan Trouille will be the Celebrant. The Committal Service will follow at Lacassine Catholic Cemetery. Words of comfort may be expressed at www.hixsonfuneralhome.com.
