M. Joseph DeBlase, 58, of Idaho Falls, Idaho passed away Saturday, Aug. 1, 2015, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.

He was born Oct. 31, 1956 in Northridge, Calif., the son of Emile Joseph DeBlase and Martha Shirlene Carver DeBlase.

In his early years, Joseph lived in California, Florida and Texas.

Joseph graduated from McKinny High School in Texas in 1975. He moved to Las Vegas, Nev., to work for his dad where he met and married Kim Denning. They were married on June 8, 1977. They moved to Idaho Falls, Idaho in 1999.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

He was currently working for Intermountain Gas Company. He had also worked for Southwest Gas Corporation in Las Vegas and Truckee, Calif.

Joseph enjoyed cooking, gardening and fishing. He loved cooking for family and work parties. Everyone loved Joe. He was an amazing family man and loved his wife dearly.

He is survived by his wife, Kim, of Idaho Falls; sons, Jesse Eugene (April) DeBlase, Jamen Cory DeBlase, and Jordan Cade DeBlase all of Idaho Falls; father, Emile DeBlase of Mississippi; brothers, Harry (Terri) Miller of Pottstown, Pa., Bruce Anthony DeBlase of Jackson, Miss., and Kirk Lee (Shunda) DeBlase of Canton, Miss.; three granddaughters and three grandsons.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Shirlene, and father-in-law, John T. Denning.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 6, 2015 at Hawker Funeral Home, 132 S. Shilling Ave., Blackfoot, Idaho.

The family will meet with friends on Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2015, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home and for one hour prior to the service on Thursday.

Interment will be in the Grove City Cemetery.

I was very saddened to hear of Joe's passing. He was a very kind neighbor with a very green thumb. When the peach's ripen on the peach trees Joe planted.....I will think of him.
