To the Fortino family, it's been years since Joe left. He was my coworker, friend, and brother. We had a special bond while working at Corestates/PNB. He Rich & myself portrayed the cast of Miami Vice Joe (Lt Costillo) Rich (Sonny Crockett) Myself (Ricardo Tubbs). I carry the nickname (Rico) given to me by Joe & Rich to this very day. I will never forget you my friend and being a part of your family. God Bless you all.

It's taken me 2 weeks to digest this and I'm still not right. Joey, my co-worker, my friend, my teamate, my coach, my brother, our friendship was one of the great ones. On my worst day you could make me laugh, I celebrated your life and our friendship with stories of days gone past and raised my glass to your memory. I will miss you. I will mourn your loss forever and celebrate your life through stories of yesterday. Save me & Deny a spot at the happy hour bar my friend. God bless the Raider family and all our friends who mourn with us.

As Kenia said, everyone who worked with Joe at MRS from '05-'07 is saddened by the news. He was a true original, and two things mattered to him above everything else - his family & his neighborhood.
To the parents of his little actress niece - If you could have seen how proud he was, making all of us read the reviews of her success in "Annie", you would have had further proof that he was "World's Best Uncle".
My condolences to his family & friends. Next time I park at the Turf Club to dodge the parking fees down the street, I'll grin & remember that Joe wouldn't have had it any other way.

Dear Family,
(For that is how you have treated me)
He was "One in a Million UNCLE BIG JOE", and the earth is a sadder place for his loss. I believe he enjoyed life; for he made all of us enjoy it.
I pray God ease your sorrow, as life will forever be changed.
I know that it's the Angels with smiles on their faces now.
All my love, Terri

Rich, Christine, Patricia and family,
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family on the loss of your brother, Joe. God Bless him.I am sorry I could not atttend the services.
As the NFL lost an influential member in Gene Upshaw, ex-NFL player and Union President, CoreStates CEA football and softball lost it's most colorfull member in Joe. He was the George Steinbrenner of the softball league recruiting his prized talent and he was truely the " Al Davis " of the CEA football league gathering his " RAIDER " team together. Joe would live his days at CoreStates game planning each and every week. He was intense and loved to compete. Although the " EXPRESS" and " RAIDERS " had a love /hate relationship we all appreciated what each other brought to the table in talent.
I know Joe will be wearing his silver and black in his new home. He will also be living the words from his favorite team owner, Al Davis of the Oakland Raiders. I salute Joe in true RAIDER fashion with these quotes from his favorite team and owner:
" You don't adjust. You just dominate".
" Once a RAIDER. Always a RAIDER".

Joey Brajole AKA. "Johnnie Castle". I will always remember your approach to making people laugh every day. You were the master of story telling and I always looked forward to hanging out with you. You always had faith in my kicking when we were with the Raiders and I enjoyed you as a Coach and friend. You will always be in my heart forever.

I don't think anyone will ever forget Joe. Working at the bank and listening to his stories, watching him coach the bank football games and especially the nights we all went out to Michael Jack's and then onto the piano bar to sing as loud as we could. We always had fun when Joe was around. I haven't seen him in years but thinking about him sure brings back some fun memories. Love ya Joe.

It's been 8 years since I last saw Joe, but we were acquainted for almost 30, going back to the old days at PNB. It seemed like almost everyone in South Philly knew him. He had the unique ability to make friends with everyone he met. That says a lot about the type of person he was. God's speed, Joe. You are missed.

Not really sure how to start this except that 24 hours after I heard the news, I still can't stop the tears from flowing. Joe was one of the best friends a person could have. He was always the life of the party and even though we spent 1000's of days together, I don't think 1 day went by without Joe making me laugh or bringing a smile to my face. He is a friend I will cherish forever. If I could have just one more day to hang out with him, Just one more chance to say something to him, I'd tell him how much I loved him and how much I enjoyed his company. We lost a great person. Joe, Even though I'm not a fan of Heineken beer, first thing I'm going to do when I get to heaven is pick up a case of Heineken, and split it with you. 13 for me, 11 for you. Good luck my friend. I will always remember you.
