I´m so sorry about losing your Dad but he had a long life and created a huge legacy and will never be forgotten

I´m fortunate to have met Joe
in January 2020 at the annual meeting of our local Austin chapter of the Society for American Baseball Research. We communicated via group Zooms once Covid arrived and chatting with him on the phone was always an entertaining experience. He was a fabulous storyteller, regardless of the topic, and a thoughtful friend. Thinking about our many lunches together before his move to Carlisle will always put a huge smile on my face. I´m sure he´ll be missed by many who were lucky enough to spend time with him.

My husband, Ira Siegel, was a great friend of Joe´s when Joe lived here in Austin. I feel privileged to have been included in a couple of dining outings with Joe and Ira. There was never a phone call that Joe didn´t ask about me or ask to speak with me. He was a real gentleman and I loved his stories. I will miss Ira saying, "I spoke with Joe today", or "Joe called and asked about ya", or "Joe..."
May the Lord welcome Joe into paradise, where there will be no sorrow, no weeping or pain, but fullness of peace and joy with your Son and the Holy Spirit forever and ever. Amen.
