I knew Joe from Jefferson University, I did not work directly with him but repaired his computer systems for 14 years so I guess you could say I worked with him! And would see him downstairs of the Edison building and take a break with him and just talk. ☺ Any chance I got if I saw him I would always take a moment to just chew the fat as he would do the same. He never failed to just say hi if we were just passing on the street which would also happen a lot. I will miss Joe a lot he was an OUTSTANDING person and good man. You will be sorely missed, your friend and computer repairman Russ

I am sorry to learn about Joe's passing. I had the pleasure of working with Joe at Jefferson. He was wonderful to work with and always had a smile on his face. Joe helped me countless times. My condolences and heartfelt sympathy.

Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal. The members of our CopNET family would like to thank Joseph M. Gariffo for his dedication and service to the citizens of Philadelphia. The passing of Joe will be broadcast to our 3,206 members shortly and we would like to extend our sincere condolences to his family. His absence from our ranks will be deeply missed by the remaining members of Philadelphia's Finest who were fortunate to have served with him during his police career. He will continue in our thoughts and prayers during our remaining days. "Until we meet again, may God Hold you in the palm of his hand. " . . .
Semper Fidelis.

One of the fondest memories I have of my brother Joe was riding on the back of his tricycle trying to get away from the "enemy".
Love you Joe
