Joseph GERMANESE Obituary
Our rock Joe has begun his next chapter, joining his lovely wife Maria. In sadness, we announce the passing of Joseph on March 23, 2012 at 60 years of age. Loving husband of Maria (August 2011). Cherished and respected father of Patrick and his wife Amanda, Paul and his wife Trisha, and youngest son John. Dearest Nonno of Noah and Evan. Loving son of Antonio and Nella Germanese and son-in-law of Irene and the late William McManus. Loving brother of Frank (Sue), Augie (Cathy), Rosemary Paton (Steve), and Alex (Julie). Joe will be deeply missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends, most notably Ron. If you so desire, donations to Transition to Betterness or Hospice Residential would be greatly appreciated by the family. Visiting Monday 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral Service Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. at

Dearest Family
I can only imagine how hard this last year has been for you. I was deeply saddened to hear of your father's passing. I knew both of your parents through working at their optometrists office. I had many nice chats with your mom and likewise your father. My last memory of him was having a coffee at Genaro's Cafe on Erie St. My sincerest condolences to all.

I didn't know Joe, but I was a good high school friend with his son Paul. Paul is a very kind, entertaining and respectful person with a tone of integrity and a solid work ethic. Without meeting Joe I can tell he was a fantastic person because the qualities that Paul possesses could have only been passed down by a great father. My deepest condolences Paul.

My deepest sympathy to the Germanese family and especially Joe's boys.
I met Joe in the fall of '89, when we had sons on the same hockey team. After my first conversation with him, I knew that Joe was a wonderful, sensitive man and gentleman, with a great sense of humour. I liked him at once. Over the subsequent years, nothing has diminished my admiration for him.
I regret that I am out of town and will be unable to express this directly to Joe's family.
