Joseph S. Kraskouskas

Joseph Simon Kraskouskas, born in Gardner Massachusetts on January 10, 1936 died with family members at his side on April 13, 2015. Joe was the husband of Joyce Ann (Hebert)Kraskouskas, who predeceased him, and the father of Craig Allen Kraskouskas of Princeton and Joseph Mark Kraskouskas, father-in-law to Adalyce Kraskouskas of Baldwinville, grandfather to Kirsty Kraskouskas (aka Pampa) and great-grandfather to Isabella Joy Gallagher. He was the first-born child of Katherine Kraskouskas and John J. Kraskouskas who predeceased him and brother to John C. Kraskouskas, of North Attleboro and Eileen Kraskouskas, of Richmond, CA. He also leaves many nieces and nephews. He attended Gardner High School and, apart from four years of service in the United States Army, he spent his life in the city of Gardner. Like many young people, his early career included a series of jobs during which he assumed increasing responsibility. In 1969, he started a small business, The House of Bargains. Owning and operating his own business was an important achievement in his life. He savored the challenges attached to that effort and worked diligently to make the business a success. He closed the business when he retired in 1995. He derived spiritual comfort and guidance as a member of Jehovah's Witnesses. His final years, along with those of his wife, were spent at the Baldwinville Nursing home, where they received attentive care from the staff. Family members wish to thank its staff, the Gardner VNA and the members of the French Connection for the attention and care they offered him. You are invited to attend his visiting hours in the Lamoureux Fletcher and Smith Funeral Home, 105 Central St., Gardner on Tuesday April 21, 2015 from 10:30-11:30AM. His funeral service will be in the funeral home at 11:30AM. Burial with military honors will follow in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen St., Winchendon at 1PM.
