JOSEPH ALEXANDER LEUSCHEN Febuary 25, 1956 August 16, 2011 Joe Leuschen passed away peacefully as a result of brain cancer at Agape Hospice, Calgary, AB at the age of 55 years. Joe grew up near Bruno, SK, 7th child of Martin and Loretta (Knoke) Leuschen. He loved to learn new things, dream big, and enjoy a good joke. Joe married the love of his life, Julie Zimmer, of Lanigan, SK on April 8, 1978 and they were blessed with four children, Crystal, Denise, Erica and Ryan. They farmed near Bruno until moving to Viscount then to Alberta in 2000, living in Strathmore, Coalhurst, and now near Coaldale where they built their dream house in 2009. Joe enjoyed jamming and singing, hunting, and telling stories. He was active in his community, participating in Knights of Columbus, Toastmasters, community theatre, and as a First Responder and Firefighter. Joe's greatest accomplishment was being an incredibly loving father, husband, brother and lifelong friend. Joe will be sadly missed and remembered by his wife of 33 years, Julie, children: Crystal and Steve Boone and their sons Jack and Nolan of Calgary, AB, Denise and fiance Amos Wiggins of Banff, AB, Erica of Calgary AB, and Ryan and fiance Kim Sinclair of Calgary AB., siblings: JoAnn (Frank) Roettger of Humboldt, SK, Dave Leuschen (Elaine Palchinski) of Bruno, SK, Ruth White of Saskatoon, SK, Les (Cheryl Bird) of Saskatoon, SK, Perry (Janine Vogelsang) of Chestermere, AB, Anita (Richard) Renneberg of Humboldt, SK, Norma (Frazer) Edmunds of Dundurn, SK, Jeff (Laurel Jungwirth) of Saskatoon, SK and Gord (Anita Pomedli) of Bruno, SK, and sister-in-law Donna (Kalbfleisch) Leuschen of Regina, SK, 22 nieces/nephews and their nine children. Joe was predeceased by his father Martin in 1991, mother Loretta in 2003, brother Adrian in 2003, sister-in-law Liz in 2005, and sister Linda in 2007. May God keep him always in his loving arms while we keep him always in our hearts. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Coaldale, AB. on Monday, August 22 at 10:00 am. A second Memorial Mass will be held at St. Bruno's Catholic Church in Bruno, SK on Wednesday, August 24 at 11:00 am, with interment following. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Salvation Army Agape Hospice at 1320 8th Ave. N.W. Calgary AB, T2N 1B8

Julie, our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time of loss. Time passes and friends move away, but time spent will always be remembered. The "Custom Ag" days, the Jan Lake excursions, where Joe generally lost at liars dice the sing alongs with Sid the singing chem rep. We will miss those times, and it was an honor to work (and play) with him.

Dear Julie, Ryan, Erica, Denise, and Crystal, We are so sorry to hear about Joe's passing. We had so much respect for him and enjoyed his company immensely. He was a great and virtuous man - sense of humour, friendly, hard-working, loved his family and he was a man of faith. Now God has called him home. Take consolation in that Joe is in the presence of God and the saints forever. Many blessings during this difficult time.
