Joseph Lee Lohr, 79, of Mechanicsville, died Thursday, April 29, 2004 at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore. Born January 17, 1925 in Madison County, Va., he was the son of the late Bernard Miller Lohr and Elsie Gibson Lohr. He was a retired electrical contractor and a member of Bethel United Methodist Church of Rochelle. He is survived by his wife, Virginia Mitchell Lohr of Mechanicsville; two daughters, Carolyn L. Lohr and Betty J. Lohr and husband, Leonard, all of Richmond; two sons, Joseph L. Lohr Jr. and Barry A. Lohr, both of Richmond; two sisters, Juanita Lohr Nash of Richmond and Ramona Lohr Kite of Manassas; 11 grandchildren, Diane C. Enroughty, Suzanne E. McKenrick, Robert W. Enroughty III, Jacob Lohr Atkinson, Jacqueline Lohr Kahl, Kristen Lohr Edwards, Lauren Lohr, B. Alan Lohr Jr., Anthony T. Lohr, Stephen C. Lohr and Mary Virginia Lohr; four great-grandchildren, James, Shannon, Michael and Austin. He was preceded in death by a brother, B. Daniel Lohr; and a sister, Wilma Bessie Weaver. Funeral services will be held in Madison County at a later date. The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, May 2, 2004 at the Mechanicsville Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 8014 Lee-Davis Road, Mechanicsville, Virginia.
