COAL TOWNSHIP - Joseph T. McBryan, 76, of Coal Township, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2022, at Mount View: A Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, in Coal Township.
He was a son of the late Walter and Catherine (Bobber) Smaletz.
Joe was a 1964 graduate of Our Lady of Lourdes High School, in Coal Township.
He had been employed at the former Clark's Poultry, in Irish Valley.
Joe enjoyed being outdoors and was an avid deer hunter and trout fisherman.
He was of the Catholic faith.
Survivors include his former wife, friend and mother of his children, Sandra Jane Wariki; three children, Kathy Zimmerman and her husband, Kevin, Walter Borkoskie and his wife, Cathy, and Deborah Borkoskie; five grandchildren, Emma and Maggie Zimmerman, Michael and Heather Pennell, and Robert Koch Jr.; and three great-grandchildren, Samuel III and Vanessa Hummer, and Dean Pennell.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his longtime companion, Patricia Arnold.
McBRYAN - Joseph T. McBryan, 76, of Coal Township. Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Shamokin-Coal Township Public Library, 210 E. Independence St., Shamokin 17872. The Stephen A. Chowka Funeral Home, 114 N. Shamokin St., Shamokin, is assisting the family with arrangements.
