Joseph McLaughlin Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Mar. 8 to Mar. 13, 2024.
Hagerstown, MD - Joseph "Joe" McLaughlin,81, passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2024, surrounded by so much love and is now reunited with his wife, son and other loved ones awaiting his arrival to Heaven.

Born on May 18, 1942, in Jacksonburg, WV, he was the son of Ben and Marian (Graham) McLaughlin.

Joe graduated from Valley High School in Pine Grove, WV. He grew up in Jacksonburg with a big, loving family. He was always tagged as a great baby brother.

Joe had a heart of gold and will forever be remembered for his bright blue eyes, his kind and gentle spirit, his wonderful, warm smile, and his pride of being independent. He was loved by so many and had a way to see the good in everyone. He was so STRONG! Joe truly encapsulated "to know him is to love him". He lived his life with such love, strength, and kindness. He was such a hard worker and dedicated much of his life providing for his family. Some of his favorite stories to tell were those of when he was a bus driver prior to becoming a coal miner. He retired from the coal mine. He thought nothing of going under ground and putting his life at risk every day for his family to thrive. He was a devout Dad, Papa, uncle, brother, friend, and Christian. His love for his family was unmeasurable. He loved spending time with his friends and family and meeting new people. He recently relocated to Hagerstown, MD where he was living his best life with his soulmate Devora. His house was the place to be. He acquired an extended family in his loving and caring friends of Summerland. There was always a reason to gather.

Joe is survived by his daughter Tawyna Rose and her husband Donnie and grandchildren Daniel Graham and his wife Kota, Isaac Graham and his partner Cisco Sanchez and Whitney Rose and her fiancé Bryce Blake, daughter Rebecca Kriner and her husband Matthew and grandchildren Jake and Lexi Kriner, sisters Grace Salina, Nancy Glover and Ann Ice, 4 great grandchildren, chosen family Bruce and Elizabeth Hollingshead, nieces and nephews, and a dog Max who never left his side.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Devora, son Earl D. McLaughlin and brothers Mike, Graham and Ben McLaughlin and a sister Idale Thomas.

The family welcomes everyone to a Celebration of Joe's Life at The Osborne Funeral Home, P.A. 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Sunday, March 17, 2024, at 4:00 pm with Rev. Mark Sandell officiating. The family will greet friends 1 hour prior to the Celebration of Life from 3:00 - 4:00 pm.
