Joseph Mitko

Joseph Richard Mitko, 87, of Hellertown, formerly of Woodbridge, NJ, died Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at St. Luke's Hospital, Fountain Hill. He is the husband of the late Agnes J. (Murawski) Mitko who died Sept. 19, 2015. Joseph was born in Perth Amboy, NJ on March 16, 1929 to the late Joseph Lawrence and Helen (Hlavac) Mitko. He served our country faithfully in the US Army during the Korean War. He worked as a pipe liner for Transco Gas (now Williams Company) in Houston, TX. He is a member of St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Roman Catholic Church, Hellertown. Survivors: Children: The Rev. Joseph K. Mitko of Hellertown, JoAnn (nee Mitko) Leili and her husband Mark of Perth Amboy, NJ; grandchildren: Mark and his wife Lisa Leili and Rachel Leili; great granddaughter: Autumn Raye Leili. Services: Family and friends are invited to call from 9 - 10 a.m. on Friday, February 17, 2017 at the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc. 326 Main Street - Hellertown followed by the service at 10 a.m. The interment will conclude services at Holy Trinity Cemetery, Hope Lawn, NJ.
