While boarding a Southwest flight to Houston I ran into Mr. Mueller (as I always called him); we'd met before and we decided to sit together for the trip. I had a date at the federal bankruptcy court records center (this must have been in 1985, long before the convenience of remote records search capabilities). Because I had a rental awaiting me I dropped Mr. Mueller at his destination before hitting the records room. I was surprised to run into him at Hobby Airport; again we sat together during our return to Corpus Christi. Because Mr. Mueller was reading data, probably resulting from his meeting, I respected his time by keeping my mouth shut - for a change.
Upon reaching Corpus I gladly accepted Mr. Mueller's kind offer of lunch. We met at a Holiday Inn and our conversation was epic; I enjoyed our visit and have always remembered something he said that day. When I described how grateful I was -and am - for the warm welcome and friendship that Michelle, Christi Roberts (Standley), their friends provided when I moved to Corpus in 1984; and that i fretted that I could never repay them for their hospitality, Mr. Mueller said, "Just pay it forward." This was years before the phrase became popularized. What a man - I am so pleased that I met him and his family.

Albert and Cookie send there love and their prayers for Patty and the family. We know Joe is resting in the arms of Jesus and asking for Him to bless and make ready the path for each and everyone of us to follow. God bless you all and may we visit with you before this year is over.

Bob, I, and the boys are all so sad to hear about Mr. Mueller's passing. We have very fond memories of the time spent with him on his ranch as well as at his home in Auburn, AL. He always made us feel welcomed and part of your wonderful family.
