Joseph Narro Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 5, 2025.
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Joseph Kennedy Narro on

January 1, 2025, at the age of 72. Joseph, better known to his friends as Joe or Pepe, was born on July 24, 1952, to Frank and Sonora (Bryan) Narro in Saltillo, Mexico.

At the age of five, Joe's family moved from the mountains of Mexico to establish

themselves in the Valley, where Joe grew to love hunting and fishing in the wilds of

South Texas. After a near-fatal accident at the age of 13, he spent the remainder of his life living it to the fullest.

After graduating from McAllen High School in 1970, Joe began his studies at UT Pan-American and became a brother of the Kappa Sigma fraternity, where he found devoted friends that, to his final day, he called family.

To those who knew him, it would be no surprise that Joe held on to life as long as

possible and quite purposefully long enough to ring in the new year one final time. Joe was a spirited friend and often the life of the party. Entertaining friends and family brought him great joy-from the barbecue pit to the poker table- and he was at his happiest hosting a gathering.

Joe had a thirst for life that he continuously tried to satiate. From regaling in his stories of encountering howler monkeys in Central America to driving in the wee hours of the night to witness a meteor shower, he wanted nothing more than to spend each day in God's glory.

Joe was a devoted son, praising his parents as the beautiful people who shaped

his morals and values. He was preceded in death by both Frank and Sonora, as

well as his brother, Frank Richard "Buck" Narro, a hero to Joe and an ever-present

source of good-natured mischief and fun.

Joe is survived by his three daughters, Syndey Nagy of Tahoe, NV; Alison Narro of Austin, TX; and Melissa Franklin of Southlake, TX; as well as three grandchildren.

Joe will be remembered for his love of life and laughter and will live on in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known him. A celebration of his life will be announced later as we come together to honor his incredible journey and cherish the memories he left behind.

My Daddy always said, "Joe, you really know how to live." Daddy always enjoyed the fun we had, together. I am so sorry to hear of Pepe Joe's passing. I pray that God will give his family peace, people say, you have the memories, sometimes, however, the memories make you cry. Love, Eveee

We will miss you Joe, hard to pin down specifics, but I think of all of us that lived in the vicinity of the Narro house on 6th, and all were friends from kids thru our varied lives

Not enough space to type all the memories! He went out with a bang a few minutes into the New Year Joe Narro style! I will miss you Pepe! Remember your promise!
Sid, you and your sisters did such a great job with his wishes! He loved you all three so much.
