PHILLIPS _ Joseph Albert 1922 - 2003 Joseph (Joe) Albert Phillips of Calgary passed away at his ranch, on Tuesday, August 19, 2003 at the age of 80 years. Born November 11, 1922 in Blacksville, West Virginia, Joe graduated from Clay-Battelle High School in May, 1940. He received a Bachelor of Science degree from West Virginia University on January 24, 1948. Joe is survived by his children, Joseph Jr. (Stacey) Phillips, Lana Phillips of San Francisco, Patricia Phillips (Bob Vargo) and Denise Phillips (James Tone), all of Calgary, and Michelle Phillips (Jonathan Aubrey) of London, England; his second wife Marie Phillips; grandchildren, Jack and Joseph Phillips, Nicole Phillips, Andrew and Anna Vargo; as well as his brothers, Marion Phillips of Calgary, Byron (Cece) Phillips of Morgantown, West VA, and Alex (Nancy) Phillips of Tulsa, OK. He is also survived by his loving friend Sherry Avena. Joe was predeceased by three brothers, Jimmy, Bob and Colonel, and his first wife Betty Rhinehart, mother of Lana. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY'S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.), on Sunday, August 24, 2003 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at Living Spirit United Church (900 - 47 Avenue S.W.) on Monday, August 25, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. Gordon Churchill of Living Spirit United Church and Pastor Howard Mastin of Trinity Lutheran Church officiating. Graveside Service to follow at Eden Brook Memorial Gardens.
