Joseph Robert Herve Bobby "Rivet" RIVARD

Passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 1, 2023 at Fairhaven in his 84th year. Beloved husband of the late Beverley (nee O'Rourke). Cherished father of Lise Anne Lebeau (Scott), Mike Rivard (Birgit) and Lori Andrew (Tim). Grandpa will be sadly missed by Julie Rose (Derek), Bryan Williams (Claire), David Williams, Lindsey Taylor (Zach), Blake Andrew (Sydney) and Madelaine Rivard. Great-grandpa will be remembered by his five great-grandchildren Alyssa, DJ, Shyanne, Emily and Pearson. Survived by his brother Gerard Rivard. Predeceased by his parents Armand and Violeta Rivard and by his siblings Lorraine, Leon, Paul, Mary, Wellie and Normand. Bobby was not only a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, he was also an incredibly talented hockey player. Originally coached by Scotty Bowman and playing for the TPT Petes from 1958-60. He is a member of the Peterborough Sports Hall of Fame (2006). He played in both the American Hockey League and the NHL for the Pittsburgh Penguins in 1967. He continued his athletics playing in the Peterborough Old Timers Hockey and Baseball Leagues. Bobby also enjoyed the outdoors, golfing, fishing and spending time with family. A private family service has taken place. Interment Highland Park Cemetery.
