**In Loving Memory of Joseph Ernest Scott (Smuk)**

With deep sadness, we announce the passing of Joseph Ernest Scott (Smuk), age 85, on March 12, 2025, in Auburn Hills, Michigan.

Joseph was a father, stepfather, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He is survived by his daughters, Jennifer Scott and Jena Aderhold; his stepdaughter, Kimberly Rose (fiancé Sean McAlpine); and his stepson, Gary Ollar Sr. (Consuelo). He was a proud grandfather to Matthew, child of Jena; Briana Mullins [Barnes] (partner Kelsey and son Kash), child of Kimberly; and Gary Ollar Jr., child of Gary and Consuelo.

He is also survived by his sister, Marilyn Smuk-Spiteri. He was an uncle to Anthony Spiteri (Irina) and Ann Marie McDermott (Kevin), children of Marilyn, as well as Lori Scott and Mark Scott, children of Steven. Joseph was preceded in death by his brother, Steven Scott (Smuk).

Joseph honorably served in the United States Army from 1962 to 1964. He built a long career in the automotive industry, working both as an engineer and in professional sales. His intelligence, determination, and practical approach to life served him well in his work.

An avid golfer, Joseph found joy on the golf course. Whether improving his game or enjoying time outdoors with others, golf remained a lifelong passion.

Joseph was known for his sharp mind and sense of humor. His life reminds us that love is not always expressed gently but is no less real or lasting. His story is one of resilience, individuality, and lessons-some easy, some difficult-that came from knowing him.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Though he is no longer with us, Joseph's memory will remain with those who knew and loved him.
