Joseph Sozzi

Joseph Sozzi loving husband, father and nonno has died. He was 80 years old. Mr Sozzi was born in San Francisco but was raised in Borgotaro Italy. He returned to SF at the age of 18. Two years later he met his beautiful loving wife Anna Maria at Italian Athletic Club in SF. They had been married 59 years and had two children Annette and Rick. He loved to cook, play bocce, expert orchid grower, soccer, the only thing he loved more than his vino was his wife Anna Maria. He was an avid menu reader where ever he went because he loved to eat. He loved his two grandchildren Nick and Alana with all his heart. Mr. Sozzi was very active in the Italian Community, belonging to the Crocker Amazon Bocce Club in San Francisco, Peninsula Italian American Social Club in San Mateo, and the San Mateo Italian American Sporting Club.
Friends may visit on Thurs, July 5th from 4-8pm at Garden Chapel, 855 El Camino Real SSF, where a vigil service will begin at 7PM. Mass of Resurrection on Fri., July 6th at 11am, Mater Dolorosa Church 307 Willow Ave SSF. Committal private. In lieu of flowers please send donations to Kidney Cancer Association, 9450 SW Gemini Dr , Beaverton, Oregon 97008-7105. Condolences may also be made at www.gardenchapel885.com.
