As past president of UNICO and current Chairman of the Board of UNICO I want to express our organization's sincere condolances to Joe's family. Joe exemplified our motto of 'Service Above Self'. Everthing he did, every function he participated in and every committee he chaired was an unselfish giving of himself. Joe, you will be forever in our prayers not only as a brother UNICAN but as a teacher, mentor and leader.

Maryann,
Our thoughts and prayers have been with you and Joe for these past few months and will continue for you, Sal, Suzanne, Anna and John. In this world of "takers", Joe was the ultimate "GIVER." Joe was more than a colleague, he was a great friend and team player. Nobody represented Plainville better as Teacher of the Year than Joe. But more than that, his legacy will be that of "Husband, Father, Son and Brother. Family was always first with Joe, and that is what we will remember the most. While I was unable to see Joe when we were in CT in May, I am glad I was able to see you and share a hug at MSP. We hope that happy memories and the love and support of family and friends will help you through this difficult time.
Love,
John and Sue McDonnell Surprise, Arizona

Mrs. Spagna and the Spanga children,
I was deeply saddened to hear of Mr. Spagna's passing. I was a '97 graduate of MSP and enjoyed my time in metal shop. I fondly think of Mr. Spagna every time I change a plug or light switch in my house because without his class, I certainly wouldn't know the difference between red and white wires! That's just one of many projects I remember from his class. I hope happy memories you shared with him will help you smile through this difficult time. I'm thinking of you all.
