Joseph Troll Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Mar. 25 to Mar. 27, 2024.
Joseph Raymond Troll, 88 of Canfield, passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2024. Joe was born July 18, 1935 in Youngstown, a son of the late Joseph and Mary (DiLoreto) Troll and was a lifelong area resident. He graduated from Wilson High School and saw the world while serving in the U.S. Army. Joe went on to work at General Motors, Lordstown Plant, where he retired as a master carpenter.

Joe worked many side jobs laying concrete and building a multitude of homes with Ray Troll and John Hyrenda.

He kept active with many hobbies; photography, gardening, stainglass, painting, fishing, landscaping and was a purveyor of beautiful things. Later he would become, "Joe the Keyman" for his ability to see beauty in skeleton keys and turning them into exquisite jewelry.

Joe looked forward to weekends spent at car shows where he displayed his old car restorations, winning prizes and trophies. He was the flag man or starter man at many races and founded the Youngstown Road Nights Car Club. He enjoyed attending High School football games, the Rodgers World Fair and swapmeet, and could often be found at Mountaineer Casino.

Joe is survived by his daughter, Jodi (Eddie) Yasechko; granddaughters, Emily and Nicole Yasechko all of New Middletown; and a brother, Jeff (Valerie) Troll of Elizabeth City, NC.

Besides his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his former wife, Delores Miglets Troll Kozelansky; two sisters, Josephine Hughes, Anita Troll; a brother, Anthony "Sharkey" Troll and a host of family.
