Joseph Tucker Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 27, 2024.
Joseph William Tucker, 58 passed away on Friday September 13, 2024. He was born on December 23,1965 in Chicago, IL to Thomas and Elaine (Gordon) Tucker and grew up in Elmwood Park, IL. Thomas preceded him in death.

Joseph is survived by daughter Olivia Tucker; stepson Dominic Russel; brother David (Mary) Tucker, sisters Karen (Nick) Karras, Colleen (Anthony) Belcastro, Barb (Steve) Becker, Kristy (Tony Karpilovsky) Richardson Tucker. He also was a great Uncle to all his nieces and nephews and truly impacted all of our lives.

Joseph had a career in television production and was a talented cameraman, editor and sound engineer. His was employed at WHME and WNDU Stations, the NBC affiliate for South Bend, IN.

Joseph enjoyed spending time fishing, especially at Pinhook Park in South Bend with his daughter & stepson, watching the Bears and spending time with his daughter. He enjoyed photography, music, painting, drawing, playing football and had great talent in cooking. He also liked to get out on the dance floor when the opportunity arose. He was interested in space and history and loved watching TV, specifically documentaries and reality shows such as Kitchen Nightmares and Survivor.

He tried to find humor in everything and could find a laugh in any situation. He always tried his hardest to be there for the people he loved most. He was thoughtful, humorous and adventurous. Joseph enjoyed spending time with his family and making new friends wherever he went. His thoughtfulness never went unnoticed, especially by his daughter. Joseph was always open to having a deep and thoughtful discussion about life. He always wanted to offer something or give a small gift to everyone. He had a very close connection to God and shared this connection with his family, most of all, his mother Elaine. He will be missed by our family and many friends who were like brothers to him.

Private interment at St. Adalbert cemetery in Niles Illinois.

I am very saddened to learn of Joe's passing. He and I reconnected over Facebook several years ago. We had a great discussion, and he shared with me that he still had a ring of my father's that he had given him on one of their fishing trips together and he had kept it in his tackle box over the years because it always brought him luck when he went fishing. I hope they've had the chance to exchange some fishing stories! Rest in peace, Joe.
