Joseph J. Turkmany

April 10, 1929 - October 17, 2021 Joe Turkmany passed away peacefully on October 17, 2021. He is survived by Mary Ann his wife of almost 63 years, his children Chris (Elizabeth), J.J. Jr. (Lisa), Alicia (Tony), and Janet (Fr. John), and 11 grandchildren – Jessica, Jillian, Jenna, Chance, Alexa, Cassiana, Kaelyn, Emmanuelle, Olivia, Marina, and Andrew.Joe was born in Central Falls, Rhode Island. He was the son of Albert and Asma Turkmany and the fifth of ten children which included his siblings Alice, Louie, Jeannette, George, Georgianna, Mary, Elaine, Rita, and Adrienne.Joe served in the U.S. Army before marrying and starting a family. He was a family man first and foremost, attending any and all activities his four kids were involved in. For over 42 years, Joe was a very successful State Farm Insurance agent, which allowed Mary Ann and Joe to travel the world on company trips. "Joe", "Dad", "Giddo", "JT" will be remembered for his friendliness and kind spirit, generosity, loyalty, and scrumptious pickled cukes, turnips, and bell peppers!Funeral Mass will be at 10AM on Friday, November 5, at American Martyrs Catholic Church, 1400 Deegan Pl., Manhattan Beach.In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Anne's Melkite Catholic Church (11211 Moorpark St., North Hollywood 91602) or St. Jude Research Hospital (www.stjude.org/donate).
