Sarah, Jake, Katherine and Moira we are very sorry for the great loss you had to endure. Joe was very talented and taken from all way too soon. We pray for your family every day. We are hoping you would entertain the thought of moving to Texas. Jake- Austin has a legendary music scene. Katherine and Moira the colleges are phenomenal. Military bases all over Texas for Sarah. Aunt Jennifer and Aunt Susan are looking into moving down and checking out colleges in Texas for Alek and Christian. And Uncle Johnny just bought a house outside of San Antonio. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

To Sarah, Jake, Moira, and Katherine, you are a beautiful family. Thinking back to the day Jacob was born, watching you, Sarah, and Joe, beaming with pride for your firstborn, with every good reason to be proud. Sarah, your grandma was holding Jacob, rocking him in the rocking chair, with Joe by her side, smiling down on them and the love was so strong in that room. There was so much joy. Your children have turned out wonderful as I knew they would, with the great parents they have. Stay strong and keep your faith. You have kept your kids safe and strong, Sarah, and we admire you for this. Sometimes it seems like God gives us more than we can handle so know that you have our prayers, our love and our support. Always in our hearts, Aunt Susan and family

Joe, it's hard to imagine that I will no longer see your face! The realization that you will no longer sit at the bar and have great conversations really has me down. You had a great sense of humor and one of my favorite responses to you want another one was," does a hobby horse have a wooden...?" You were a dear friend even though we never hung out and you will be truely missed! All your friends at cjs have been talking and reminiscing of all the good times and how much you meant to them! Your absence does not go unnoticed. At cjs you were a part of the family and cjs will never be the same without you! The stool that you most frequently held conversation with me from will hold your memory and even though it may not be empty, to me it will hold an emptiness that can never be replenished. We all wish you were here! To your family and friends I offer my deepest condolences and I extend my welcome to join me in reflection of a beautiful life at cjs. Joe Loved his children dearly and was very proud of them! I will remember you Joe!

My deepest condolences to Joe's family, friends, and all who knew him.
It was an incredible shock to find out this morning that Joe is gone. I've known Joe only a little over a year now working with him, but it feels like I've lost a long time close friend. He loved to reminisce about his time in the Marines stationed in Hawaii, where I grew up. He'd share his stories and we'd talk about the places we knew in common. He always said it was his dream to go back to visit someday, and I was looking forward to the day that he would come in to work and tell me that he was finally going! And I would tell him all the places he should go, and where to eat, worthy of his gourmet palate. It was a privilege and great fortune to have the chance to get to know him. I will sorely miss him.

Joe, I'll keep bringing back the Kona for you braddah.

This message is mainly for Joe's three children. I think his Toyota co-workers (including myself) were too much in shock and at a loss to say what a great job Joe has done for Toyota at the service on Sunday. I've known Joe since 2006 when he came to Toyota to work on Toyota Venza Instrument Panel parts. Since then, Joe has created a lot of Toyota interior design work including the most recently launched 2013 Toyota Avalon (he designed the glove box). You see, even though Joe is gone, his legacy lives through the products that he designed and created to satisfy so many others. Hence, next time you see a Toyota Venza, Sienna, Tundra, or Avalon, please double take and take heart. His legacy lives on.

To all friends, family and acquaintances,
Our loved ones are always near.. In our hearts, in our thoughts and in our prayers! Joe was a wonderful man who had a sensitive side that he liked to keep shadowed by his humor. From what I gather Joe accomplished a lot in his life and influenced a lot of people in a positive way! Joe spoke very highly of his children! Joe had a passion for grilling, I remember some Bacon wrapped jalapeƱos he made that were outstanding! I enjoyed the many conversations we had and I pray for Joe and all of his loved ones.

Joseph- thank you for your kind words of encouragement when I needed them. I wish I could have provided the same for you.
You were well loved, and deservedly so. I didn't care much for high school, but the bus rides home with you and Doug made it seem less heinous.
I will miss you.

Joe was a good neighbor. When he saw that our old boat's steering wheel could be removed, he volunteered to put nautical knots all around it. It was SO cool and I wish we could've kept it when we sold the boat. He also made the best beer I've ever tasted--this was at least 3 years ago. It was like a fine food. His beautiful and intelligent children are an asset to this earth and make it better, just by their existence. Last time I talked to him, he was so proud to tell about Jake being an "artist' (his word) with his music.

Joey, my friend. As teenagers, we played guitar & drums at my parents house on Lykalane at bass lake. I'll always remember how inspiring that was to me. As kids, we (friends from Glen Iris neighborhood) loved laughing with Joey & riding bikes. I miss you, pal. My thoughts and prayers to family and friends at this time.

When we look at that picture, it reminds us exactly how we remember Joe. Frank remembers working with Joe, laying tile until late at night. Having a friend that made him laugh constantly with his tremendous coarse way of joking! We love your whole family and and hope that if you know how much people care, somehow it will help ease some of the pain you bear. We are here if you need anything. Love and prayers.

Where to begin, but the beginning...the day Joe introduced himself to me on our first day of senior year, in a class we shared together in Cape Coral H.S....after finding out where I was from, he promptly moved to the seat next to me proclaiming, "us Motor City boys need to stick together..." and connect we did... classmates and roommates in high school and college, our leap together to serve our country as Marines, together the day his first born (Jacob) came into the world, a move together back to Michigan to start a life with his young family..and so many more treasured moments in time...my gratitude for his friendship over the years is timeless, it meant more to me than he could ever know. Life won't be the same without him...rest eternal my brother...

Dear Judy and family,

I know your hearts are breaking, I just couldn't believe it when I heard. I'm so very, very sorry. Cherish all the wonderful
memories you have, and know how much he loved you all. I remember him as I last saw him....a teenager, but happy and at ease to be around us when you would have us over. He left you with 3 wonderful grandchildren, and I know you will see a part of him through them. I pray that God will wrap his arms around you all and comfort you through this terrible time. Hugs and love, Beverly and Andy

I can't imagine the grief you are experiencing over the loss of your dear son. I will always remember meeting him and the joy he had hearing his son play the guitar with his band. May it comfort you to know family and friends will be by your side to hold you and share your grief. Hold close all the memories and fun times you shared during his short life. Joe gave you three beautiful grandchildren. May they continue to make you smile. Love and Hugs, Lauren
