Joseph Charlie White

Joseph Charlie White, of London and formerly of Corbin, passed away Saturday, May 17, 2008, at Baptist Regional Medical Center in Corbin. He was born at Rockhold, a son of the late Rev. James O. White and Rebecca J. Pridemore White. He was retired from the Kentucky National Guard with more than 20 years of service. Also, he was a retired teacher, having taught at Rockhold High School and later at Whitley County Middle School.He belonged to Central Baptist Church. His wife Iva White passed away March 1, 2006. Survivors include two daughters, Carroll Lunsford and husband Gary, of White House, Tenn., and Iva Lynda Steely, of Williamsburg; three grandsons, Charles D. Steely, of Williamsburg, Jeffrey L. Steely and wife Amanda, of London, and Ronald Scott Frazier and wife Janet of White House, Tenn.; one great-grandson, Logan Scott Frazier; two sisters, Rosa Olmstead, of Huntersville, N.C., and Julia Douglas, of Cincinnati, Ohio. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, May 23, at the O’Neil Funeral Home’s chapel, with Rev. Chris Jasper and Rev. Ron Green officiating. Burial will be at the Broyles Cemetery at Rockhold with military honors.Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Friday at O’Neil Funeral Home.Memorials are suggested to Trinity United Methodist Church or Central Baptist Church.
