Joseph Leon "Jody" Wilemon

AMORY – Joseph L. ""Jody"" Wilemon, 43, died Monday, Aug. 24, 2015, at Baptist Memorial Hospital, New Albany. Born in Amory on Sept. 10, 1971, he was the son of Eddie Wilemon and the late Sandra Gaye Edgeworth Garner.
A graduate of Hatley High School, he furthered his education by getting an associate degree from University of Phoenix as well as a Hydrolics and Pneumatics degree at ICC. He worked as a Body Welder for Toyota and was very talented with his hands. Jody was passionate about his family and friends. He married the love of his life, Reniee Stidham, on July 15, 2013. He loved his grandson, his children, and his ""furbabies."" He liked to build car audio systems, compete, and he was talented enough to build systems for himself, his wife, and his friends' cars. He was a member of Team Bass Probz and ranked first nationally in the Amateur Street 2 Car Audio competition. In his free time, one could find him with his close friends, Alan Boozer, Jeff Wileman, Mel Webster, Chad White, Heath McGurdy, Carl Thornton, Ben Foreman, Heather Taylor and Mark Stanford. One could find them hanging out, working on car systems, and trash talking Mississippi State and Alabama fans. Jody loved all sorts of music. He enjoyed watching shows like Castle, NCIS and Bones while sitting in his favorite corner of his sofa.
He is survived by his wife, Jackie Reniee Wilemon, Amory; father, Eddie Wilemon (Dian), Amory; daughter, Brittany Marie Oberman, Amory; son, Michael Stidham, Amory; grandson, Aaron Stidham, Amory; sister, Ashley Wilemon, Phoenix, Ariz.; step-dad, Terry ""Pop"" Gardner; many special friends; and several cousins.
He is preceded in death by his mom, Sandra Garner; sister, Kandi Wilemon; grandparents, Bobby Leon (Ouida) Wilemon and Duraine (Anna) Edgeworth.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, Aug. 28, 2015, at E.E. Pickle Funeral Home, Amory, with Bro. Gerald Gann officiating. Burial will follow in Masonic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Alan Boozer, Michael Stidham, Heath McGurdy, Dylan Justice, Jeff Wideman and Ray Ray.
Visitation will be at the funeral home from 5 to 8 p.m. today, Aug. 27, 2015, at E.E. Pickle Funeral Home.
