Joseph Williams Obituary
OPELOUSAS - Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 27, 2013 at Ford and Joseph Funeral Home in Opelousas for Mr. Joseph Williams, 86, who passed away on Saturday, July 20, 2013 at Opelousas General Health System. Interment will be in Garden of Memory Cemetery in Opelousas.
Rev. Frank L. Ford will be officiating the funeral services.
Mr. Williams is survived by: his loving and devoted sister, Willie Mae Williams of Opelousas; Christopher Williams (whom he helped raised as a son) of Vicenza, Italy; Mona Broussard (Leonard), Donna Williams (Mike) and Trina Williams (Greg), all of Opelousas and Elaine Strong (Robert) of Houston, TX (who all he helped raised as his daughters); his aunt, Mary Bell Chilo of Opelousas; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, Benny Williams and Harriett Joseph Williams; one brother, Leroy Williams; six sisters, Louise Rideaux, Lucille Tyler, Ella Mae Rideaux, Anna Belle Williams, Mary Eva Williams and Bessie Williams; and Derrick Wayne Williams (whom he helped raised as a son).
Visitation will be observed on Saturday, July 27, 2013 from 7:30 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. at Ford and Joseph Funeral Home.

Ford and Joseph Funeral Home, 907 N. Market St., Opelousas, LA, is in charge of arrangements.

Just learn of uncle Joe's passing. Reading The D.W. on line. My prays go out to my family. This is Aunt Bob's son. Uncle Joe & Me used to laugh & talk often when I lived out there. He was A Man of God, He loved His family. He was A wise Man. Helped Me become a better person. I thank God for Him. This I Know, He is Home with The Father.

Uncle Joe, it's really difficult to believe that you are not here with us. When we go home(mama's house) we expect to see you there ready to start joking. We miss you so much. But, we're so grateful that God allowed you to be with us for 86 years. The wonderful memories of you will live in our hearts for ever.
