Joseph "Joe" Wirbicki, 68, passed away on February 15, 2025, in Port Charlotte, Florida.

Born on August 1, 1956, in Scranton, Pennsylvania, Joe was a man of intellect and adventure. He graduated from Mid Valley High School in 1974 before pursuing his passion for Marine Biology at the University of Tampa, earning his degree in 1977. His early career took him across the world as he served in the Peace Corps in Malaysia from 1979 to 1981. Later, he shifted his focus to technology, obtaining a degree in Computer Science from National University in 1984 and building a successful career as a software engineer before retiring.

Joe had a love for the water and spent countless hours swimming. He also enjoyed playing cards, particularly Bridge and Pinochle, where his strategic mind and competitive spirit shone through.

He is survived by his brother David Wirbicki and his wife Rosemary; his sister Carla Lackey and her husband Larry; nieces Amber Porras, Dana Wahlers and her husband Corey, and Marla Kaluzavich and her husband Mike; great-nieces and nephews Michael, Emily, Gabby, Ryan, and Rosalia. He was predeceased by his parents Joseph and Irene Wirbicki and his nephew Michael Wirbicki.

A Celebration of Life will be held on February 23, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Heritage Oak Park Lodge, located on Heritage Oak Drive in Port Charlotte, Florida.

Joe's memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
