JOSEPHINE BELLI

BELLI, JOSEPHINE Josephine Longofano Belli, 81, formerly of Grove Terrace in Westbrook, passed away peacefully on Dec. 22, 2014 in Bayview Health Care Center, Waterford. Born in New Haven on Jan. 13, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Salvatore and Phileppe Russelle Longofano. Josephine lived in New Haven until 1963 when she moved to Clinton, where she worked at Pond’s for many years. She also worked at the Norelco Co. and ended her career in industry at The Lee Company in Westbrook. She enjoyed Bingo nights at the Elks Club in Westbrook as well as time spent with family and friends. She is survived by her daughter, JoAnn Janicki of Old Lyme; one brother, Frank Longofano of West Haven; two sisters, Antoinette DeVivo of North Haven and Phyllis Vandermalen of Westbrook; three grandchildren, Edward R. and Adam William Janicki of Arcata, CA and Kaitlyn Marie Janicki of Middletown; one great grandson, Xyanye Janicki of Arcata, CA.; many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews, whom she loved. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, William (Bill) Belli, who died on Sept. 6, 1976; by her brother, Joseph Longofano; her sisters, Carmelina Zimbardi, Anna Uss and Mary Aceto; and a nephew, Marc Vandermalen. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary’s Church, 5 Hillhouse Avenue, New Haven Tuesday morning at 10:00.
