Joshua Alton Burdick Joshua Alton Burdick, 34, of
Boston, Massachusetts, passed away on Sunday, July 6, 2025, at Tufts Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family, following complications from surgery. Born on September 11, 1990, in Peterborough, New Hampshire, Joshua was the beloved son of Louise Geneseo (Britton). He graduated from Monadnock Regional High School in 2008 and continued his education at Keene State College.
While attending Keene State, he worked as a pharmacy technician at CVS and as a phlebotomist at Cheshire Medical Center. From a young age, he felt a deep calling to pursue a career in the medical field. After studying at Keene State, he moved to
Boston, Massachusetts, where he continued to follow his passion for healthcare. There, he worked as a Pharmaceutical Sales Representative and was committed to improving lives and contributing to the fight against illness.
He came into the world a redheaded spitfire, and he lived his life with that same fierce passion and determination. Even in the face of personal struggles, he fought with courage and resilience to find his path. His journey through the challenges of addiction-a battle that touches so many-was marked by strength and perseverance. That fight, and the heart he put into it, is something to be deeply proud of.
Joshua is lovingly remembered by his mother, Louise Britton Geneseo, and her husband Peter of Hinsdale, NH; his maternal grandmother, Gail Britton of Windsor, VT; his aunt and uncle, Laurie and Joe Ertsgard; and his cousins, Jessica and Zachariah Ertsgard of Sturbridge, MA. He also leaves behind a large extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins with whom he shared many cherished memories during his childhood in New Hampshire.
He was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Jerry Britton, with whom he shared many meaningful moments, including plowing driveways together in Keene and working side by side at his grandparents' dry-cleaning business, JB Fabricare, in Windsor, VT.
In his younger years, Joshua cherished trips to the ocean with his family, especially those spent alongside his beloved great-grandmother, Ruth Adams. He also held fond memories of his great-grandparents, Richard and Ellen Britton, who were a loving presence in his life-always ready with a pack of Wrigley's gum and a Fudgsicle during their visits together.
Joshua was a beloved son, grandson, and nephew, and he had a rare gift for turning strangers into friends. He will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him, and his memory will forever live on in our hearts.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 2nd at 11:00AM, at the Keene State College Camp on Wilson Pond, 19 Page Court Keene, NH. All who knew and loved Joshua are warmly invited to come together to share stories and reflect on his life. Contributions in Joshua's name may be made to The West End Clinic at Massachusetts General Hospital, in support of the ongoing fight for recovery and healing
