GOULD, Joshua William - Of Flint, formerly of Higgins Lake, age 45, passed away Saturday, October 1, 2022 at his residence.
Funeral service will be held 1pm Friday, October 7, 2022 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint.
Burial in Evergreen Cemetery.
Contributions may be made to the family for his daughter’s future education.
Visitation 5pm-8pm Thursday and 11am Friday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Joshua was born in Flint, Michigan on December 26, 1976.
Josh became a father on April 7, 2008 and Kennedy was the love of his life. He also had a deep love for his sister, Bobbee. Josh was excellent at giving advice, especially to his sister, whom he held a very close and loving bond.
Josh was an avid snowmobiler, enjoyed hunting, and his favorite sport of R/C cars. Josh was a "jack of all trades", and was always willing to help anyone in need. He was a master mechanic, but able to fix or do anything.
Joshua held a special place in his heart for dogs, and was very compassionate about his animals, nursing his sister’s elderly dog after surgery, and tending to his Mom and Bobbee’s new puppies.
Josh’s happy place was his grandparents cabin in Higgins Lake, and he loved the years he spent living there.
Joshua was instrumental in caring for his Grandfather (Bob) during his illness with dementia/Alzheimer’s. This allowed Grampa to remain at home with Grandma, rather than be placed in a nursing home.
He will always be remembered for his big heart, and his magical laugh-friends and family alike, were drawn to his laughter.
From Mom: I hope and pray the memories that will flood by body will be those of your playfulness, your innocence, your childhood, forever etched on my soul. In this moment, there is only deep peace for I’ve always known that it is the everyday and the ordinary that make life real, and my heart will swirl with love as I think of you finding the divine in your own backyard. Love eternally, Mom.
