I was stricken with great sadness today when heard about the loss of Josh. It always saddened me that we had not stayed in touch, and he was the one person I would inquire about if I ever spoke to someone from the QCA.
My memories of Josh began when I moved into Chateau Noel in the summer of 1985. I remember seeing him riding his bike through the playground. He was my first friend in Iowa and always a true one. From 5th grade all the way through college Josh was always a saving grace for me, someone I could go to when times were trying. He had a kind soul and good heart and I will always think of him as one of best friends.
A loss of this magnitude is heartbreaking for all who had the pleasure of knowing Josh. I wish that I could have been there to pay respect to my dear friend, but the distance is too great. I hope that in this letter you can find a bit of solace, knowing that Josh was loved and touched many people’s lives. He will forever be in my thoughts and his life will be celebrated with the stories that are shared.
My Deepest Sympathy,
Allison (Gottlieb) Zall

One of my favorite memories of Josh is from first grade. He was always so excited about going to the school roller skating parties. He was great at imitating people, and was constantly making me laugh. It is rare to know a person whose personality remains the same throughout the whole time you know them. Josh was one of those rare people-- he was just as sweet in high school as he was when we were six years old. He will truly be missed by so many people.

Leslie, Nathan, Liz, and all of your family,
I am so sorry to hear of Josh's passing. There are no words that can express the grief I feel for your loss. Josh was one of those sweet guys that will be remembered by all those whose lives he touched. My thoughts and prayers are with you all during this very painful time. May God be with you and everyone who is suffering from this tragic loss.
Sincerely,
Sherri Frazier

I am very sorry to hear of Josh's loss. I am very close to the other workers on his crew, and have seen how hard it has been for them to deal with this. He will be remembered fondly. Best wishes to his family.

I received a phone call the other night that Josh had been in a tragic accident. I could hardly believe what I was told.
I had not been in touch with Josh for a really long time. In fact, it was probably sometime after my sophomore year of college that we last saw each other. That does not mean that he was not in my thoughts from time to time. I always wondered where he ended up and if he was happy.
Josh and I were very good friends through junior high and high school. He was someone I always knew that I could count on. He was such a good listener and he just knew the right thing to say or do for you.
I am sorry he was taken from this world so early in his life, but I know that he is looking down on us and smiling.
