Joshua Owens Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 2, 2018.
Joshua Paul Owens was born May 9, 1983 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Don and Valerie Owens. Josh was a fun free spirited boy and man who always made everyone laugh... and that remained throughout his life. He was incredibly intelligent and creative, and his laughter was contagious. He had a love of music and drawing and was gifted in so many ways. He loved his family dearly and was very much loved in return.

He grew up in Spring, TX and Odessa, Texas and Kingman, Arizona. While living in Spring, he made a profession of faith in Jesus Christ and was baptized. Later he would become an entrepreneur who owned a very successful internet business that allowed him to travel extensively. He especially loved Ireland and always talked about going back there. Joshua's life ended suddenly while living in Odessa, Texas on December 29, 2017.

He preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Robert and Nancy Owens, and his maternal grandparents, Linus and Norma Moreau.

Josh is survived by his mother Valerie Avila and husband Bryon of Attascadero, California; his father Donald Owens and wife Michelle of Odessa, Texas, his sister Jennifer Oakley and husband Joshua and daughter Julia (his niece) of Midland, Texas; brother Landon Thompson of Gardendale, Texas; brother Nathanial Avila of Attascadero, California; sister Erica Avila of Attascadero, California; his mom's family of aunts and uncles, including Sandy Moreau, Len Moreau, Becky Melancon, Darrell Moreau, Sonny Moreau, and Jody Moreau and numerous cousins; his dad's family of aunts and uncles, including David Bush, Debbie Holzbach, Dusty Owens, and Dianne Owens, and numerous cousins.

Joshua will be laid to rest next to his Meme at Tyler Memorial Park in Tyler, Texas, January 4, 2018. He will be missed so much but will forever be in our hearts.

Josh always had a special place in my heart. He loved Louisiana and he loved his Cajun Grandpa Linus Moreau. He will be sadly missed. I love you my nephew, Rest In Peace! Love always your Aunt Becky

My deepest sympathy to your family. I remember a funny and cute boy who told me how to get a discount at Splash Town. My heart goes out to your family.

Valerie, Bryon, Donnie, Michelle, Jen and Josh- my heart and love go out to you all. I will always remember the sweet, funny little boy that Joshua was. Im truly sad that I never got to know the amazing young man that he became. Comfort one another and always remember the good times.
