ROCK FALLS – Joshua T. Shannon, age 32, died at home Tuesday, June 11, 2013 following a brief illness surrounded by his loving family. Josh was born April 10, 1981 in Sterling the son of Myron and Janet (Saathoff) Shannon. He married Megan Wilcox on October 2, 2010 in Sterling. Josh was employed with the Wal-Mart Distribution Center in Sterling and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and was an avid fan of Notre Dame, Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears. Survivors include, his wife Megan of Rock Falls; one son, Jonathan Thomas Shannon of Rock Falls; his father, Myron (Nikki) Shannon of Portage, Wis.; his mother, Janet (Dale) Sierens of Rock Falls; two sisters, Kaylon Shannon of Rock Falls and Alyson (Steve) Bearsley of Morrison; four step-brothers, Brian (Karen) Sierens of Manlius, Bob (Alison) Sierens of Glencoe, Brandon (Lindsay) Sierens of Tiskilwa and Beau (Desiree) Sierens of Marengo; four step-sisters, Michelle (Roy) Erdmann, Amy Williams, Jennifer Williams and Kimberly Williams all of Wisconsin; 21 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents. Visitation will be from 4-7:00PM Friday, June 14, 2013 at the McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls. Celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sterling with Reverend Bruce Ludeke officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Knoll Memorial Park, Sterling. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established.
