Josiah RIDLEY Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Jan. 13 to Jan. 14, 2010.
RIDLEY Josiah Jay "JoJo" Josiah Jay Ridley, "JoJo", age 8, of Toledo, passed into God's arms January 10, 2010, in his home, surrounded by his loving family, after a courageous battle with MLD. Josiah attended school at PPC and was a member of Holland American Legion Post # 646 SAL. Josiah would steal your heart with his smile and had many girlfriends to prove it. Josiah loved cartoons especially Sponge Bob, Scooby Doo, and Disney movies. He was a wiz on the computer and loved playing his Nintendo DS. Josiah is survived by his parents, Brandi and Jewel Brown Sr.; sister, Shayla; brothers, George and Justice; grandparents, Jill and Butch Boutlon, and Pamela and Booker Dupree Sr.; along with many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Family and friends will gather Thursday, January 14, 2010, from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the Urbanski Funeral Home, 2907 LaGrange Street at Dexter (419-244-4611) where funeral services will begin Friday at 11:00A.M. The family would like to thank Josiah's nurse Maureen Kratzer and the staff of NW Ohio Hospice for their excellent care, love and support shown to Josiah and his family. Also to our family and many friends, thank you for giving Josiah your heart and prayers.

Something I would like to have said if I were in your shoes...
Please Don't Tell Me
Please don’t tell me you know how I feel,
Unless you have lost your child too.
Please don’t tell me my broken heart will heal,
Because that is just not true.
Please don’t tell me my son is in a better place,
Thought it is true, I want him here with me.
Don’t tell me someday I’ll hear his voice, see his face,
Beyond today I cannot see.
Don’t tell me it is time to move on,
Because I cannot,
Don’t tell me to face the fact he is gone,
Because denial is something I can’t stop.
Don’t tell me to be thankful for the time I had,
Because I wanted more.
Don’t tell me when I am my old self you will be glad,
I’ll never be as I was before.
What you can tell me is you will be here for me,
That you will listen when I talk of my child,
You can share with me my precious memories,
You can even cry with me for a while,
And please don’t hesitate to say his name,
Because it is something I long to hear everyday,
Friend please realize that I can never be the same,
But if you stand by me, you may like the new person
I become someday.
