I was SO heartbroken to receive this news today.
Jovan was my student in Construction class a couple of years ago. He was always such a positive, thoughtful, and fun guy to be around. Just a great person to teach and to become friends with. He was much loved by the others in class, as well, and always went out of his way to try to help with anything he could do.
My deepest condolences go out to his loving family and friends.

Wow, Jovan, I am lost for words. I can remember when we were in the construction class in the WorkOne building on 5th and Broadway and we both had graduated. You started working at a factory in Portage and when I was looking for work, you had sent me their information and I had gotten an interview. Although, I didn't get the job, I was just so happy that someone that I had known since West Side High School ( I was class of "04") would look out for me. I thank you sooo much for that and I pray that your family will be safe in God's loving arms. Until we meet again brother... this is not goodbye but see you later!!!

I was blessed and fortunate like many to have Jovan Jones as my (big) brother. His wisdom, patience, and FAITH always was inspiring to me. More than anything else, I'm grateful I had a chance to reconnect with you and further witness how much of a great man you always have been. I'm grateful to God I had you as a friend and as a brother. To his family, I'm thinking of you and praying for you. Jovan has always been a soldier for God so I know he's watching above and will continue to bless you with his love. Love you always, Jo.

To my boys, KJ and Jahari, sending you so much love. It was such an honor to watch over you guys during our time at TBLA as your "big cousin" and I wish there was something I could do to help shield you from you from the heartache I imagine you must feel as your Dad has become your newest angel. Please remember to allow yourself to feel your feelings and keep each other close. Your Dad will always be with you in how own special way; allow his legacy to live and shine through you. Love Always, "Ms. Jones" (Nikkia R. Hines)
