Joy Marie Fattori,70 of Prairie Hill, TX passed away suddenly on Monday June 17, 2024.

Memorial services will be 11 A.M. on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at the First Methodist Church in Valley Mills, Texas. Reception following the Activities Center.

Joy was born September 9, 1953 in Colchester, Essex, United Kingdom. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mario Victorio Fattori.

Joy came to Texas to attend Baylor University in Waco, where she received her Master of Divinity in December 2009. Before deciding to join the ministry, Joy served others as an orthopedic nurse in the United Kingdom. In 1990 she received her Bachelor of Science in Social Sciences from the University of Southampton. Joy became a minister with the United Methodist Church where she served as pastor of both Dawson and Oglesby United Methodist Church for four years. She also served as a chaplain with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. Her appointment began with Cayote United Methodist and First United Methodist Churches in Valley Mills, in November, 2022. Joy helped both churches with their transition to the Global Methodist Church with whom she was to be ordained as an Elder with the Global Methodist Church.

Joy will be remembered as a generous, caring person and a devoted animal lover. Leaving behind her dogs, Buddy, Bliss and Freckles.

After becoming our pastor at Cayote Methodist Church, I immediately knew that I wanted to officially join the church. A couple of weeks later she welcomed me into the fold. From that moment on she and I talked either via text or by phone once a week until the day she passed. I miss you and our talks so much Joy!
