Joyce DeSOUZA Obituary
Joyce passed away peacefully on January 31, 2014, in her 92nd year. Beloved wife of the late Alex DeSouza (1964). Loving mother of Trevor (Carole) and devoted grandma to Justin and Michael. Predeceased by her sister Jane Godinho and her brothers Lawrence and Ivan Fernandes. She will be lovingly remembered by her many nieces, nephews and friends. Special thanks to the caring staff at the Ottawa Civic Hospital, Bridlewood retirement residence, the May Court Hospice and Dr. Bill Splinter. Friends may pay respects at the

Dear Trevor and family,
I am deeply saddened to hear of the passing of dear Aunty Joyce. Please accept my heartfelt condolences.
Aunty Joyce was my late mother's cousin (my mum was Bevinda Viegas, nee Fernandes, your Uncle Romeo's daughter).

My condolences to the DeSouza family. Joyce was a lovely and gracious lady. I loved chatting to her while working in the flower beds around our condo building. She always took the time to stop and enquire abouts one's health whether we met in the lobby, laundry room and foyer. A beautiful woman inside and out.

After many years of searching for each other that is Joyce and Vivienne as cousins we are so blessed that God gave us the opportunity to meet and to share some memories with her. We will always remember Joyce as a cheerful strong woman with a kind and compassionate heart. I (Vivienne) am happy I got a chance to speak with her before she left us on her journey to be with the Lord.
