Joyce May Gough

Joyce passed away in her Lakewood home on June 22, with family nearby. She was 89. Her strong spirit, invincible character and faith in the Lord were ever present during her lifetime. Joyce married William Gough in 1948 and they had two sons, Stephen and Robert. She was a member of Trinity Methodist Church for 63 years and was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and volunteered at Lakewood Regional Medical Center and Pan American Festival. Joyce worked at Mayfair High School in the Activities Office and as the Student Body Banker for 23 years. In addition, she started Cakes by Joyce for 30 years. She was preceded in death by her husband Bill and brother Raymond Hall of London, England. She leaves behind two sons, Stephen Gough (Cheryl) of Huntington Beach, CA and Robert Gough (Karen) of Seal Beach, CA. Other survivors are 3 granddaughters, Carissa Bible (Ryan), Kirsten Powers (Jeff), Kelley Gough; 2 grandsons, Kevin Gough, Jeff Stonger; 4 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Marlen Hall of London, England and cousin Rosemary (Bill) Wooldridge of Portsmouth, England. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, July 13th at Trinity Methodist Church located at 5730 South Street, Lakewood, CA. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Auxiliary Scholarship fund of Lakewood Regional Medical Center, 3700 East South Street Lakewood, CA 90712 or Trinity Methodist Church, 5730 South Street Lakewood, CA 90713. Robbie & Steve :-( Our Sincere Condolences ... Your Mother will be greatly missed ... especially :-) that Wonderful, Adorable Giggle she always used to have :-) not to mention her ALWAYS Lovely Lady-Like English Accent ... ESPECIALLY :-) for Keeping the Tree we all grew up in & loved so much :-)(dispite some of the boys (there were 45 of us your parents helped raise :-) breaking the bottom limb so we girls couldn't climb onto it :-) :-) :-) MUCH Love, MUCH Love, Forever & Always :-) Patti Mele-Krage & both Mele - Krage Clans (ie My Brother Bob & his son, & Jim & our 4 kids & granddaughter)
