Mom,
Today is your 83rd Birthday and I miss you even more today than usual. 60 years ago you had just found out that you were carrying a baby (me) which coincided with your husband of a year & a half, the love of your life, being sent off to basic training in preparation to go to Korea. I can only imagine how you felt, all alone away from everyone at that time. You were so strong and just kept working and taking care of yourself and probably never complained.
We miss you so much. You were the center of our family for which there is no replacing. We do take comfort in knowing you are rejoicing in Heaven with everyone that has already arrived.
Love you always and look forward to being with you again!

It has been 19 days since we had to let you go Mom and will be our first Christmas without you. We know you would want us to "Be Happy" like you always told us to, but it is tough. We love you and remember how wonderful you made Christmas for us for as long as you could. We take comfort in knowing you are no longer suffering but are enjoying your reward by living in your new Heavenly home. You will always be in our heart's. I never had a chance to meet Joyce but I know her wonderful daughter Pamela. What a shining example of the type of mother she was. Our most sincere condolences on the loss of your cherished mother.
