Joyce Jean Morgan, 73, passed away on November 15, 2017 at her home in Seagoville. She was born on June 18, 1944 to John F. Galvin and Dona P. Massingale of Borger, Texas.
Joyce lived in Borger until the age of 7 and then moved to Dallas in 1953 and attended private school at St. Mary’s in Oak Cliff. She was a homemaker most of her life, occasionally working at Sylvan Grocery Store before retiring in 1999. Joyce loved animals and had quite a few over her lifetime. She was a giving person to everyone she met. Joyce loved to shop and would always buy for others before herself. She also loved to cook for her family and play bingo. She courageously fought the battle of cancer for two years, very bravely and never complaining, remaining positive and smiling throughout the ordeal. Her greatest pleasure in life was her family and they will forever hold her in their hearts.
Preceding her in death are her parents, her brother Jimmy Galvin and the father of her children, Otto Hall Johnson.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children: Carolyn Johnson (Daniel Hilton), Thomas Johnson (Janet Little), Katie Rathmell (Gary Hamilton) and Donna Morgan (Charles Morgan); grandchildren: Joey Johnson (C.J.), Jeanette Evans (Eric), Jackie Burns, Jennifer Brown (Billy), Kimberly Anello, Angela Smith, Justin Rathmell, Tollie Enix, Jared Enix, Amanda McCaskill (Justin Thompson, Sr.) and Kristi McCaskill; great-grandchildren that she cherished: Paris, Cheyenne, Summer, Denzel, Alison, Olivia, Marcus, Madison, Alyssa, Conner, Kolbe, Kaden, Anthony, Jordan, Blake, Breanna, Justin, Tyler, Alex, Hailee, Judy, JJ Enix, Karah Enix, Carter Enix, Jude Enix, Brea Enix and Kaoss Enix; brothers: Antonio Galvin and Mario Galvin; a host of extended family members and friends that will miss her dearly.
