Joyce was an awesome and caring mother and grandmother. She took me under her wing a tender age when I had no one to turn to. Taught me so much about being a mother the meaning of family unity and loyalty. She loved me through all my ups and downs always had words of wisdom for me. I was honored to blessed into the family when I gave birth to her grandson who she loved dearly. We use to share long talks on the phone reminiscing. About my time in Indiana during the summer months sitting out side laughing and joking just kicking it . She made me feel so welcomed included , loved , seen, understood , she gave me a sense of belonging. She will forever hold a place in my heart . The sacrifices she was willing to make for her family and grandkids is outstanding.
May her memory live on. Through her children and grandchildren . I will continue to honor her legacy . And uphold her mission of family values and unity . Star and Janell will always be my sisters for life . May peace find you. And may the gates of paradise open upon your arrival . With every hardship there is ease the ease is within the hardship itself I love you Joyce Washington .

Mama Joyce was one of the realist women I´ve ever known. She definitely said what was on her mind I have nothing but great memories of love and a lot of laughter. It was nothing but good times. We stayed in her room laying in her bed even though we were teenagers, she could not get rid of us. Those where the best memories and she would give us the realist game ever holding nothing back, she will truly be missed
Love, Tyan (Yanni)
